Starting at Piano Provenzana (1800 meters), your journey takes you to the impressive Volcanological Observatory at a staggering 3000 meters. Along the way, you'll see firsthand the raw power of nature – from buildings swallowed by ancient lava flows to the fascinating "buttonhole" craters, a dramatic reminder of the October 27, 2002 eruption. You'll even hike through the solidified lava and volcanic debris from this incredible event at around 1900 meters.
