Etna Wine Tasting Tour with Winery Lunch and Pick-Up

This Etna wine tasting tour with lunch fills a whole day, about nine hours, and begins with pick-up at your accommodation. The first stop is Rifugio Sapienza, around 2,000 meters up, where the landscape turns to lava flows and craters.

You start with the old Silvestri Craters and then trek on to the craters formed in 2001, looking at the unusual rock formations recent activity left behind. Part of the route goes into a lava flow cave. A tour leader walks with you and talks about the volcano, the park's plants and animals, and the geology of the area.

Afterwards you drive to a winery on the fertile slopes, with vineyards around you and the volcano in view. Four local wines are poured in a guided tasting, with a generous Sicilian lunch.

Wear sturdy shoes for uneven volcanic ground and bring a jacket, since Etna stays cool even in summer. The ticket for the Silvestri Craters is not included.
