Description
This Godfather tour in Sicily is for fans of the saga, and also for anyone who likes medieval villages away from the usual tourist routes. It visits the places where Francis Ford Coppola shot scenes of the trilogy.
The first stop is Savoca, on a hill near the sea. At Bar Vitelli, where Michael Corleone asks Apollonia's father for her hand, you can sit down with a lemon granita. A short walk through narrow streets leads to the church of Santa Lucia, the setting of the wedding.
Next comes Forza d'Agrò, 420 metres above sea level, with views over the coast and its coves. You pass through the Durazzesco arch to the church called Triade, and a few ruins remain of the Norman castle.
