Description
Etna at sunset is the idea of this Etna sunset tour by 4x4 from Catania, the winter edition, with a relaxed start to the day so you reach the mountain as the season's golden light arrives. A naturalist guide leads the way, and the walk suits visitors of any age.
The route is an easy walk past several extinct craters, climbing to about 1,800 metres, across ancient lava flows and through the typical vegetation of Etna, where some trees are centuries old. You get a view of the spectacular Valle del Bove and explore a volcanic cave, for which a helmet and flashlight are provided. On the way, the guide tells the story of the volcano.
