Description
For an hour of Etna wine tasting in Catania, you settle into a wine bar decorated in opulent baroque style and known for its handmade Caltagirone pottery. The pottery on show runs from Moorish heads to vases and plates.
You taste four glasses of quality Sicilian wine, each from a local vineyard and each showing a different side of the island's soils and climate. A little buffet of regional specialties comes alongside, some of it DOP and some Slow Food certified, chosen to match the wines.
- Four glasses of Sicilian wine from local vineyards
- A small buffet of traditional products
- A non-alcoholic drink for younger guests
It is an easy way to get to know Sicily's winemaking tradition without leaving the city. Younger guests can join too: they get the buffet and one non-alcoholic drink. If you are vegetarian, vegan, lactose intolerant or coeliac, tell the host in advance. Getting to the wine bar is up to you.
