An Etna wine tasting does not get much closer to the volcano than this: four glasses of Favazza wines, poured with the mountain as a backdrop, in a family setting around Sant'Alfio. The host guides you through the bouquets and aromas and explains how climate, altitude and mineral-rich volcanic soil change the taste of each wine.
Food is part of the session. The pairing changes every day and follows the season, built from produce of the family's garden and the surrounding area, so each wine comes with something typical of Sicily on the side.
